Have you ever wondered how New York life would be? If you want to know, you should read the Fame Game by Lauren Conrad. You will take a look at the life of 4 totally different girls, but all with the same dream. Become a famous person in the entertainment industry. Trevor Lord was producing his new reality show in which he showed the daily life of this girls, now we're the idea was that they were supposed to have a good relationship. They first met each other in a fashion show and things didn't went well. Unluckily they continued like that, in the way to the fame every girl shows its real identity and how they really are. When a boy gets on their way the rivalry continues. Who will stay with the boy? And who will reach the fame? I'll let you discover it once you read the book.
While reading I could identify that the most important element in the book where the characters. Conrad did a great job describing them and making a connection between them and the reader. The first character she introduces is Madison who is a character she had used in his last books. She is already a little bit famous but she is always wanting more fame so I could identify she is selfish and she only things about her and that she is always the center of attention. Carmen is part of a royal family in the entertainment industry however she wants to become famous by her own way and that her parents don't help her. I can see she is a decided and independent girl. By the other side Gabriel was mostly a beautiful face and she is kind of lost. Last but not least Kate was presented. She was an ordinary girl that moved to New York searching to became a musician. I could see she was an honest girl that didn't let fame get into his mind.
The story takes place in New York City mostly in filming sets and the important places of this city. It doesn't tells us when it exactly happens but I could infer it could be in the present or in a near future. The pace was a little slow for me because it repeated a lot the same things. However the author did a very good job in the description. She described so well the characters I could connect with them really quickly and could predict what they were going to do in some situations. But this was also a little boring since the story was very predictable. I really liked the few surprises she gives us because it changes completely the story. I would recommend this book to the girls who like drama, love and realistic stories.
